In this video, Keith Ferrazzi, author of Never Eat Alone, shares the best way to connect with other Advocamp attendees.
When trying to connect with others, always find a way to help first. If you’ve done your homework and made a plan for the conference, you should already know how you could be of service to a new connection before introducing yourself. If you haven’t, make sure to find out how you can help them achieve success.
Next find a way to show you care. Get to know other attendees on a professional and personal basis. Don’t use your breaks to check emails or return phone calls. Engage with everyone present as much as possible to expand your network. Let your guard down and don’t worry about trying to look good. Be honest with others about what you’re hoping to find at the event. They may be able to point you in the right direction.
