Frequently Asked Questions

Frequently Asked Questions

Is there a fee to submit an entry?

No way! We want to have a chance recognize you for your achievement. All you need to do is spend the time to put together your entry and submit it to the correct category in VIP – where the BAMMIE applications live inside our Advocamp 2018 experience.

What are the BAMMIES Awards?

The Best Advocate Marketing Awards—or BAMMIES for short—are designed to recognize the amazing achievements that are being made by forward-thinking B2B marketing leaders across the globe who put fans, advocates and evangelists at the heart of their marketing programs.

Who can enter?

Advocacy doesn’t start and stop with the advocate marketing department. We encourage any individual in the B2B industry that has demonstrated results from their advocate marketing activities to submit for a BAMMIE award.

How do I enter the 2018 BAMMIES Awards?

The submission period for the 2018 BAMMIE Awards will be open from August 15th thru September 12th, 2018. Finalists will be announced the week of September 24th, 2018.

Winners will be announced on October 3rd, 2018 at the BAMMIES ceremony held in Toronto at the Glenn Gould Studios. See the list of 2018 categories and get the full details on how to enter here.

Can I still enter/win if I can’t attend the Awards Ceremony?

MOST DEFINITELY! You don’t need to be physically present at the awards ceremony to receive your award. We’ve had past winners who were unable to attend designate someone to accept the awards on their behalf. You get a BAMMIE and they get free dinner – everyone wins! However, we would definitely like to see you there.

How many finalists will be announced in each category?

Due to the number of high-quality submissions, we plan to announce one winner per category. All winners will receive one BAMMIE award to honor their achievement during the awards ceremony (or mailed to them after that date if they are unable to attend). Warning: receiving a BAMMIE may cause jealousy amongst your colleagues.

Can I enter more than one category?

Of course! In fact, we encourage you to submit in multiple categories, you rock star!

For example, you may want to submit your Best Advocate Program submission into the Big Bam! Business Impact along with Advocate Marketing Program of The Year. You are probably showing how awesome your program is along with the metrics so it makes sense to submit in all three categories.

However, you will have to make three separate submissions but it’s small price to pay for fame and glory.

Please note that no single company will be selected as a finalist or winner in more than three categories.

Can I enter an older campaign that started two years ago?

We would prefer your entries to programs or campaigns to have a majority of their work or results in the last 12 months. However, if it’s an exceptional story, two years is fine.

What makes a winning entry?

This really depends on the answers, the category, and the competition.

In general, our judging panel gives preference to submissions that are able to show measurable and strong results. Media assets (eg. screenshots, images, etc.) also help tell a story if it is applicable.

Also, please note, shorter entries may sometimes be more effective than longer ones especially if you’re able to distill the important facts clearly.
