Last week, we shared why we decided to run a Game of Thrones-inspired contest at this year’s Marketo Marketing Nation Summit. Everyone who visited Influitive’s booth in the expo hall was entered to win the grand prize: A trip for two to a Game of Thrones filming location, such as Iceland, Morocco, Croatia, Ireland or Malta (valued at $5,000).
Amanda has been using Marketo for five years, and is an advocate in Marketo’s Purple Select advocate marketing program powered by Influitive. In Purple Select, members can be recognized and rewarded for their Marketo evangelism, have exclusive access to events and content, and elevate their personal brand through sharing their success. Top participants are able to earn points, badges, and status on the leaderboard.
Purple Select: Improving knowledge and skills
Amanda became a fan of Marketo after she realized the true potential of the software. “When we started with Marketo, we weren’t taking full advantage of the platform,” she says. Once Elsevier was able to leverage Marketo to improve their lead scoring models, it helped their sales team improve cross-sell and upsell opportunities. Amanda also found that Marketo’s integrations with Elsevier’s CRM could be very powerful.
Amanda first heard about the Purple Select advocate program through her Marketo-certified co-worker Tim Gilbert, who joined the program and suggested she try it out. So far, her favorite part of being in the program is the access to helpful content that she may not have discovered otherwise. “I like that I have immediate access to things I can read from my mobile,” she says. Finding new content has helped Amanda become a more knowledgeable Marketo user. “I like that the program keeps me up to date.”
Amanda has experience running a small advocate program at Elsevier, and is impressed with the Purple Select program. “I like the gamification aspect. It’s a powerful tool for engaging your customer base.”
The power of advocate networking
The Purple Select program also fosters helpful connections with other Marketo users. Amanda finds that networking both online and at in-person events is important for becoming a more engaged Marketo user, and getting more value from the software. That’s why Amanda always finds Marketo Summit inspiring.
“The ability to interact and network and come up with ideas for our organization is impactful,” she explains. “I get a lot out of the sessions—especially case studies from other customers.” Amanda is looking forward to continuing to build her Marketo expertise through the Purple Select program.
Finally, Amanda says she plans to use the grand prize to take her first trip to Ireland with her son. “It’s always been on my bucket list!” Congratulations Amanda! Enjoy your Game of Thrones-inspired trip!
