What is Evangelist Marketing?

Evangelist marketing is an advanced form of word-of-mouth marketing. Evangelist marketing occurs when a company takes a product or service that they offer and convince consumers that they need to have it, or at least need to try it. Companies such as Apple, Amazon and Netflix are prime examples of successful evangelist marketing.

Why Is Evangelist Marketing Important?

Alex Goldfayn, author of the book Evangelist Marketing: What Apple, Amazon, and Netflix Understand About Their Customers(That Your Company Probably Doesn’t) calls evangelists “hyper-repeat customers who will do your marketing for you.” They can close deals and help the user community grow — all for free. These evangelists become key influencers, enhancing the company’s and brand’s image.
